Idris Elba is not an athlete by trade. He is also 44 years old. That doesn’t seem to be stopping him from trying to become a professional kickboxer in a new Discovery Channel UK show called Idris Elba: Fighter.
The British actor used to kick box and fight for training in his twenties, but that’s a lot different than kickboxing around the world professionally in places like Cuba, Japan and Thailand. He aims to go pro in exactly 12 months time, and is doing this as a personal goal since he’s got plenty of money in the bank from his storied acting career.
