Migos – Look At My Dab (T-Mass & DJ Whoo Kid Remix)

T-Mass & DJ Whoo Kid share a crowd favorite from the Turn Up Godz tour.

If you’ve been to any of Waka Flocka’s dates during the Turn Up Godz tour, you’ve probably heard a particularly lit remix of the Migos song “Look At My Dab.” Now courtesy of DJ Whoo Kid and San Fransisco producer T-Mass, who is celebrating 100 million remix streams by releasing the track, everyone can get a taste of the madness the song inspires.

The song forgoes verses in favor of a traditional EDM cycle of building into drops, and they do not disappoint. Synths rip across massive bass hits as Migos’ lyrics tell the listener to dab. If you’re feeling this one you’re in luck; DJ Whoo Kid has an EDM crossover album in the works that will incorporate some of his frequent collaborators from the hip hop side of things.

Trey Songz – 3 Times In A Row

Trey Songz shares a new remix, “3 Times In A Row”.

Trey has been coming through with regular rap remixes over the last little while, recently hopping on Belly’s “Might Not” and Kodak Black’s “SKRT”. Today, he’s taking on TK-N-Cash’s “3 Times In A Row”. One thing we can certainly learn from all of these songs — other than that Trey knows how to kill a hip-hop beat — is that that rap and R&B aren’t all that far off from one another right now.

No word on whether Trey has a new project on the way, but we would assume he has something to promote if he’s decided to unleash all of these remixes at once. A proper follow-up to Trigga perhaps?

DJ Scream ft Juicy J, Young Dolph & 21 Savage – Lit

Southern triumvirate of Juicy J, Young Dolph and 21 Savage joins up on “Lit.”

DJ Scream’s new posse cut “Lit” draws participants from all corners of the American South. Scream taps his fellow Atlantan 21 Savage, Memphis residents Juicy J and Young Dolph, and producer Durdy Costello, who hails from Jackson, Mississippi.

For “Lit,” Costello strips down the instrumental to nothing but roaming 808s and spare percussion, leaving 21, Juicy J, and Young Dolph plenty of room to inhabit the beat with their respective styles. “Lit” is not lit in the strictly turnt-up sense. But there is more to being lit than getting turnt up. It’s a subtle art with which everyone involved is clearly pretty familiar.

Charli-XCX-2016

Charli XCX – Bottles

Drown away your sorrows with new Charli XCX.

Charli XCX is producing some of the most original pop music on the scene today, and it’s entirely her doing. After launching her label Vroom Vroom and dropped an EP of the same name, it was clear she had a vision of where the 2016 music front was heading – wherever she goes.

The “Trophy” singer said last month she’s “making beautiful party songs” for her upcoming album that “goes to other places,” but the newly-surfaced song “Bottles” isn’t quite that. It’s a quirky, mid-tempo electro-pop song about drowning your regrets with a big glass of sweet escape. Drink up.

“I feel the most creative I have in a long time,” she added at the time, “and I couldn’t be more excited for the next chapter.”

This could be a taste of what’s to come:

Meek Mill & Fabolous – All The Way Up (Freestyle)

Meek Mill takes some shots at Drake on his “All The Way Up” freestyle with Fabolous.

Just a day after Jay Z shared his first verse in recent memory over Fat Joe’s surprise hit, “All The Way Up,” Meek Mill and Fabolous have taken a turn, debuting their version on Funk Flex’s show today. Naturally, the talking point of this version is Meek’s very direct shots at Drake, as he once again criticizes him for the writing assistance he’s had, as well as dropping the phrase, “Views from the projects”. He also mentions his generous water bottle donation to Flint, Michigan.

Fabolous follows his verse up with some characteristically slick wordplay, but Meek definitely comes away with the more memorable verse on this one. Is this a sign that DC4 is finally on the way?
